Dear Mr. Davis,
Thank you for being my favorite teacher and teaching my favorite class the past three years. Your dedication to our program makes me want to work harder and play better.
You are very supportive of all your students, regardless of their achievements. I believe that you want nothing but the best for everyone, which is admirable (because some people are evil). The sacrifices you make for us daily mean a lot, and even though we may seem tired or chopped out before class even starts, we value the effort you put into helping us succeed.
The last year has been crazy for you, with your new job, new responsibilities, baby Bodie, Jupiter, etc., but, you always go above and beyond to make band more fun and exciting. The way you conduct us with passion and tell jokes and anecdotes from your life while we are rehearsing always lightens the mood, and I am so thankful that you are our director.
This past week has been a whirlwind of events for you, and even though you are going through so much, you are still here for us. I’m so glad that you are our director and you got us a great concert hall to perform in. I’m excited to be playing hard music that you have pushed us to do, and I’m even more excited for what you have in store for us next year (Niagara Falls :3).
We are all grateful for all of the support you have provided for us throughout the year. I might never know how you do it, how you put up with everyone’s shenanigans, how you always see every time it’s time to be serious and when it’s OK to be silly, or how you keep coming to conduct us every day with all that you have going on. Still, I will always be thankful for all of the lessons you teach us every day.
Sincerely,
Violet Isom
