She owns the title of Tautai after she sets sail and restores the heart of Te fiti. She is now a skilled wave finder, navigator and leader after her previous adventure. But soon enough she has to set sail again after a vision from her ancestor. He mentions how the people weren’t connected anymore, and it’s up to her to find the sunken island of Motufetu that once connected everyone. If you like a great adventure out on the ocean with heartfelt parts throughout that you can feel through the screen, “Moana 2” has to be your next movie to watch.
With the vision from her ancestor printed on Moana’s mind, she finds crew members to board her ship with her and help her throughout her long journey across the ocean. She finds her best friend, the shapeshifting demi-god, Maui, who helps Moana with her self-image and confidence.
Last February, it was announced that Moana 2 would be out in theaters for everyone to see. Soon enough the release date was out in the open, and were to show in movie theaters all around on Nov. 27.
Since the movie’s release date there are many positives overall. Two songs really stuck out. The first of which was the first song sung by Moana, called “Beyond,” and then, “Get Lost,” which is sung when Moana reunites with Maui. Since Moana’s last adventure, she now has a little sister named Simea (voiced by Khaleesi Lambert-Tusda). With her character built into certain parts, it highlights a more emotional tactic for viewers which is effective.
Throughout this movie, I feel there are negatives. There were a few plotholes, which left viewers hanging and almost questioning. The movie felt rushed as it was so quick and went through Moana’s adventure so quickly. I wish they would’ve highlighted new characters a little more so we could get a feel for them and get to know them more, just as we know Moana and Maui.
Overall, “Moana 2” is a good movie to watch in theaters with family and friends. There are moments where you can laugh and cry with the other viewers present. So, go on you’re way and set sail to you’re closest theater.
