Tyler Okonma, also known as Tyler, the Creator, whose hit songs include, “See You Again,” “EARFQUAKE” and “NEW MAGIC WAND,” released a new album called “Chromakopia” Oct. 28. With this new release, Okonma is going on a world tour with 79 locations. The tour starts Feb. 4, 2025 and ends Sept. 4, 2025.

The album introduces its lead single, “Noid,” as well as two other singles, “St. Chroma” and “Thought I Was Dead.” Right now on Spotify, his top song from this album is “St. Chroma” with over 100 million plays. “Sticky,” “Like Him” and “Darling, I” are also some of his trending songs from Chromakopia.

I like the songs on this album. My favorite songs from this album are “Tomorrow,” “Like Him,” and “Sticky.” Out of those three songs, my favorite is “Like Him” because it sounds the best to me, and I feel like the lyrics and the music go well together. When I first listened to it, I thought that it sounded sad because it’s a song reflecting on the absence of his father. I like that at the end of the song, we learn that his dad did want to be there. “Tomorrow” is one of my favorites because I like songs with a good guitar presence and the guitar goes well with the flow of this song. “Sticky” is one of my favorites because I like GloRilla’s and Sexyy Red’s verses.

The only thing that I could say that I do not like about “Chromakopia” is that the tour tickets are super expensive, and while I do like the merch, it is also expensive. The hoodies are priced at $75.99, the t-shirts are $45.99 as well as the phone case and tote bag. The price range for the tickets on Ticketmaster is $152.50 being the lowest and $850.00 being the highest for the March 17 concert in Dallas.

Overall, I really like the “Chromakopia” album a lot. One of my favorite parts of the songs is the messages that are either before or after the song from Okonma’s mom, Bonita Smith. I feel like her narrations let people get a better understanding of some of the songs.
