The 2024 “Wicked” movie is a remake of the 2003 Musical Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz. Starring Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West.

The 1939 Musical film, “Wizard of Oz,” shows how Dorothy kills the Wicked Witch of the West with a bucket of water so she can discover her way back home. “Wicked,” the movie, starts with showing the people of Munchkinville celebrating the Wicked Witch of the West’s death and Glinda tells the true story of Elphaba and who she really is.

I like the connection between Glinda and Elphaba and how Glinda tells the story of how they met and what they went through together. The director. Jon M. Chu couldn’t have made a better cast, with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo and how well they clicked together to make the movie more realistic, and them being former broadway performers made the music enjoyable to watch and listen to, to bring the full effect of it being a musical movie.

A deal-breaker for Wicked is this is just the beginning–this is just act one and we have to wait until next year in November to finish the story of Elphaba and Glinda.

This movie is really good if you are a big fan of musicals/broadway and if you like the “Wizard of Oz” movie. If you love a feel-good, humorous and sentimental movie, “Wicked” is the movie to see.

I highly recommend seeing this movie for the songs, the feelings and to learn about Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship.
