Azle ISD Updates Teacher Email System for Easier Communication

Azle ISD has recently updated its email system, simplifying the teachers’ email addresses by removing the “g.” prefix so that students who need to email their teachers will only use the azleisd.net domain.

This change is designed to make communication between teachers and students more efficient. Previously, teachers received email through both domains, but many preferred checking one over the other. This change was made to simplify communication. With only one email domain, it’s easier for both teachers and students to stay connected without worrying about using the wrong address

“It’s definitely easier for teachers now, because we don’t have to keep track of two emails and it really is a process for everyone to get used to.” English teacher Randi Coffey said. For years students were not sure which email teachers actively checked.

This inconsistency created confusion for students, who often struggled to determine which email their teachers checked more frequently. This switch to a single email domain is expected to eliminate these challenges. By reducing the guesswork, students can feel more confident that their emails will reach the right place.

“I’ve missed a lot of emails because students are still sending them to the old ‘g.’ mail, which we don’t have access to,” Coffey said.

Despite the initial challenge, many students are seeing the positive side of the transition
They have started to notice the benefits of the new system, with many appreciating how it simplifies their interactions with teachers.

“This is a great change,” senior Isaac Lalonde said. “It used to be so confusing to figure out which email teachers check every day. “It’ll take some time for everyone to adjust to it, but it’s something we need, and communication will be a lot better in the long run.”
