Remember in Elementary school when we would have amazing and thrilling Christmas parties with our old friends and exchange gifts during white elephant? The holiday season brings nostalgia from our childhood, and it’s time our teachers and school brought the festive spirit.
I know extracurriculars generally host holiday parties for their students, but Azle High School should host holiday parties for every class. Students want a return to the feeling of going back to elementary school and having these parties.
Since we are growing and getting older, school and work is getting more stressful and overwhelming, students and teachers deserve a much-needed break from all their hard work and dedication.
Bringing back these Christmas traditions into high school would not only bring joy and happiness to students and staff but would also be a way to bond with other students and staff.
These high school Christmas parties can bring light into our school spirit by decorating the halls or classrooms with a certain Christmas theme, playing festive music during the day, hosting a gift exchange like Secret Santa in classes and even volunteering to give back to the community. That said, there are some AHS clubs that participate to make these traditions come to life. For example, check out FFA, which oversees a large food drive for the Community Caring Center, Student Council, who organizes the 12 days of Christmas dress-up days and provides gifts for teachers, and PALS, who works with the Azle Lion’s club on the Angel tree.
