You will be checking cameras, managing the power, handling the doors to keep you safe, and listening closely for your survival from the animatronics. If so, you should download and play all of the Five Nights at Freddy’s games, learn the deep lore of each, and then go watch the movies.
“Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” (FNAF) movie was released into theaters Dec 5, directed by Emma Tammi. It follows the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” movie that was released in October 2023. The movies are based on the popular horror video game series, “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” created by Scott Cawthon, where spirits of missing children get trapped in animatronics.
The movie starts off with a flashback to the very first pizzeria, where William Afton, played by Matthew Lillard, lures and attempts to murder a boy. This was the start of it all. A girl named Charlotte, played by Audrey Lynn-Marie, sees this, saves the boy, but eventually gets stabbed by Afton and dies. This leads to her soul being captured by one of the animatronics, Marionette.
This movie was a big step up from the previous movie. It was scarier, included some classic FNAF songs, followed some of the actual FNAF lore and backstories with the characters, and even had some easter eggs. The movie also ended on a cliffhanger. These were major positives for the movie, which drew my attention.
While the movie had some great aspects, it still had some downsides. The movie was so hyped up beforehand that I set my expectations too high. I felt as if I could have predicted most of what was happening. I was preparing myself for a shocking movie with many jump scares, and I was wrong.
Overall, FNAF 2 was a pretty good movie to watch. While it was an upgrade compared to the first movie, I think they still have the potential to make the third movie even better than both. I think it is definitely worth watching for the experience, and while you’re at it, bring some friends with you! Go see for yourself.
