Senior Assassin has finally come to an end, with Kannon Lowery knocking out Lance Smith and winning $1,700.

While this is only the second year, Senior Assassin has become one of the traditions for the senior class, bringing students together in an outgoing way for them to compete before walking the stage. Many players said this game has brought them closer with their classmates.

“I think it’s been a great opportunity for people to get to know others they may not know well,” senior class vice president Brianna Ayala said. “I also think it was a fun thing for seniors to do before graduation in May.”

For players, the experience has been exciting, especially for those who waited to participate.

“It has been really fun getting to actually participate in it this year and not just help my friends from last year,” senior Lance Smith said.

Some seniors, like the students in charge, have a different view of the game

“We make sure everything is fair by trying to keep information to ourselves as admins, as well as holding everyone accountable to our rules and expectations,” Ayala said.

However, running the game comes with its own challenges.

“Players at times have frustrations about the way they get out of the game, and me, Reese, and Miley have to handle those situations the best we can,” Ayala said.

Looking ahead, future organizer, junior Michelle Lechuga are already preparing for next year and learning from the current game.

“I am expecting lots of comments from people who may not appreciate the way it is being run, and constant questions from people that are curious,” Lechuga said. “I am preparing by keeping up with the current game and looking at what participants like and dislike.”

While many students enjoy the game, some have ideas for how it could be improved.

“I would probably change the fact that you can wear goggles around your neck because I think it makes the game too easy,” senior Johnny Boyer said. “Personally, I think they should be around your head because it makes you look silly.”

Senior Assassin has become a popular activity for members of the senior class, whether it’s being in charge or participating and sharing their own experiences.

“I think it has been a very fun experience that has been a great way to bring the senior class together,” Boyer said. “This has given us an opportunity to get out and do something rather than just stay in our house.”
