Coach Ewing Leaps into his First Year

Coming from a family of teachers. New to fatherhood. Assistant tennis coach and first year teacher Jared Ewing is ready to learn.

“This is my first year,” Ewing said. “I’m trying to absorb as much as I can and take it one day at a time and learn from other teachers.”

Ewing had a feeling teaching would be something he’d be a part of considering the majority of his family are teachers.

“I’ve got a lot of teachers in my family and my mother- in-law actually was,” Ewing said. “The one who really kind of put that seed in my brain and helped foster it.”

As a first year teacher, he’s got a load on his back learning different ways of teaching and getting the hang of things.

“I actually graduated from Azle in 2005,” Ewing said. “So seeing how much things have changed yet how similar they are has really been eye opening.”

Ewing still has lots to learn and he has many people by his side giving him great advice and guidance.

“There’s so many things that I’m trying to look out for,” Ewing said. “And trying to listen to everybody that I possibly can.”

Having so many to help him out, Ewing has had it quite easy as a first year teacher at Azle.
