The Sting Recognizes: Coach Estes

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week last week, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank one of my favorite teachers, a city councilwoman, and my all-time favorite coach: Coach Estes.

I have been a part of the swim team since my freshman year. It has been the best decision I have ever made. I have been swimming for most of my life, so it only made sense to join the swim team once I started high school.

After spending countless hours in and out of the water it had been made clear that Estes cared for every one of her swimmers so much. She makes sure to go above and beyond for every individual student and athlete that she has. From getting up to the school at 4 a.m. to prepare our workouts, to ending the day with her throwers, she is the pinnacle of what a coach and teacher should be.

Coach Estes has become a very important part of my life in and outside of the athletic period.
There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am that she has been able to be the role
model that she has become for me.

No one can do it like her and no one ever will. Even though a simple “thank you” can do no
justice for the gratitude I feel. So, in short, thank you Coach Estes for everything you have done
and will continue to do for this school and city.
