With the Beat Boswell, Beat Cancer campaign going strong, someone is about to lose their hair. Senior Ema Waring and Algebra teacher Chad Cooke are competing with one another to see who can raise the most money.

This idea was originally brought to the table by Mr. Cooke, who decided he would compete with somebody to see who could raise the most money for the Beat Boswell, Beat Cancer campaign and whoever raises the least money will have to shave their head in support of the campaign.

One might think it would be a struggle to find someone else willing to lose their hair for a good cause, but Waring volunteered without hesitation.

“I was nervous at first, but I don’t really have that much emotional attachment to my hair, so if it happens, at least I know it’s for a good cause,” Waring said.

Cooke is determined not only to beat Boswell, but to collect more donations than Waring as well.

”I’m nervous, but at the same time I really want to beat Boswell and raise a bunch of money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, so my competitive spirit overtakes my fear,” Cooke said.

So far, it has been neck and neck, and with their hair at stake, they need all the help they can get. Cooke and Waring are currently taking donations online until Sept. 28.
