Even now, five years after I left Silver Creek, Coach Shearer remains one of my all-time favorite teachers and coaches. He had an incredible way of connecting with every “kiddo” he coached, always knowing how to make us laugh and feel seen. He created an environment where everyone felt welcomed and valued.
Coach Shearer continues to leave a lasting impact, not just through his role as a PE teacher, but through the way he lives his life—with kindness, encouragement and steadfast faith. He still welcomes former students with open arms and encourages us to visit anytime. Every time I see him, he reminds me that he still prays for me daily. He’s a true example of someone walking closely with God, and I’m so grateful for the influence he’s had on my life.
