The fashion from the ’70s and ’80s are swinging back into 2019. Teens these days are calling it “retro” but it’s really just old fashion. These teenagers are wearing a variety of old fashion pieces including scrunchies, mom jeans, denim jackets, and platform shoes.

Scrunchies have become one of the trendiest ways to style hair nowadays. Whether you wear them on your wrist or up in your hair, scrunchies add that final touch to your outfit. Scrunchies were a big thing in the ’80s and eventually died down in the late ’90s to early 2000s. You could look anywhere around the world and there will most likely be a girl with a scrunchies on their wrist.

Women these days just want to be comfortable while still looking fashionable and mom jeans are the perfect thing for that. Mom jeans accentuate your curves and make you feel better about yourself all around. You can find mom jeans just about anywhere from thrift stores to high dollar brand clothing outlets.

Denim jackets definitely made a comeback in 2019. Basically, anything made out of denim was very fashionable and in during the ’80s. Denim jackets are perfect for breezy summer nights or just for a winter coat. You can style denim jackets in a more fancy way or in a more casual way, they work great for both.

Platform shoes are back in style but not necessarily the same ones that were worn back in the ’70s. The platform shoes in the ’70s were 6 inches and nowadays they are only 2-3 inches. Girls these days wear sandals called “platform sandals” with all their dressy outfits. They style them with mom jeans are just a basic sundress.

All throughout the decades, these styles have come and they have gone. After the years these styles have transformed but still have the same “retro” look.  These trends might be in 2019 but will always be known as the fashion of the ’70s and ’80s.
