The covid-19 outbreak that occurred this year has impacted billions of people across the world and attempting to get this virus under-control remains an ongoing battle.

As Joe Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election on November 7, he has stated that he has great plans to take charge of the pandemic and enforce change. I have faith in his plan of action, as I believe that he has the ability to take authority and create a safer and more habitable life amidst the pandemic.

According to, “Among the Biden–Harris team’s top priorities is a strong COVID testing and contact-tracing strategy. The team says it will create a ‘Nationwide Pandemic Dashboard’ to display transmission rates of the virus in regions across the country.”

This strategy would “ensure all Americans have access to regular, reliable, and free testing,” according to I find this first step to be both crucial and sensible, as we must have a better understanding of the data of the virus to begin to overcome it, and we can only gather that data if we have an accurate amount of cases.

He also expresses that he “ will take responsibility, rather than leave states, cities, tribes, and territories to fend for themselves, and focus on producing more of these critical supplies in the United States. “as stated by This includes ramping up the production of masks, face shields, and other personal protective equipment.

Providing masks, face shields, and other protective gear is extremely important in my opinion. This is because we must stop the spread of the virus to actually control it, and that should be done by wearing these items. Along with these objectives, the Biden-Harris team intends to give guidance to communities on how to navigate the pandemic.

“Joe Biden will direct the CDC to provide specific evidence-based guidance for how to turn the dial up or down relative to the level of risk and degree of viral spread in a community, including when to open or close certain businesses, bars, restaurants, and other spaces; when to open or close schools, and what steps they need to take to make classrooms and facilities safe; appropriate restrictions on size of gatherings; when to issue stay-at-home restrictions.” according to

Allowing the CDC to take charge and direct the American people is a prominent part in defeating this virus. We must listen to professionals during this time and give them the position they have rightfully earned. Biden also intends to distribute treatments and vaccines, implement mask mandates, expand the defenses used to predict, prevent, and mitigate pandemic threats, and more. These objectives will ensure that our country slowly and surely goes back to being the safe, enjoyable environment that it once was.

“Whatever the state of the COVID pandemic on the day Joe Biden and Kamala Harris take office, their administration will listen to science, ensure public health decisions are informed by public health professionals, and restore trust, transparency, common ground, and accountability for our government,” as stated by
