The MTV VMAs (Video Music Awards) is the time for all celebrities to show off their crazy, amazing, and iconic outfits. This year’s was the 38th annual ceremony of the VMAs. It was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and was hosted by rapper Doja Cat.

Speaking of Doja Cat, she wore a Vivienne Westwood corset for the night. The corset was decked out with purple draping, and she topped the outfit off with red thigh-high latex socks and strap platform heels. You couldn’t forget about Lil Nas X wearing a custom Versace piece. It was a pale purple with diamond detailing all over and had perfect matching boots. The piece looks like a pantsuit but from another angle it looks like a ballgown.

Kacey Musgraves, a popular country singer, wore a bizarre Valentino ensemble: a sleeveless purple minidress paired with red over-elbow gloves, topped with a purple feathered hat and clear strap sandals. Olivia Rodrigo was wearing a gorgeous strapless and fitted Versace gown. It featured a dark pink and coral color combo. You can’t overlook her bedazzled butterfly drop earrings.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly showed up looking ready for the cameras. Machine Gun Kelly wore a bright red printed Dolce & Gabbana suit with black dress shoes. Megan Fox’s wispy Mugler pick served us with a sheer spaghetti-strapped dress, showing off her equally minimal undergarments. She paired it with muted gold strap sandals. Camila Cabello wore a combo of red and pink Alexis Mabille dress. Strapless bodice in hot pink to the dual-covered bow. Her significant other Shawn Mendes rocked a fitted white blazer and baggy trousers coordinated with a low-cut silk tank top by Judy Turner.

Paris Hilton wore a shiny sliver Richard Quinn minidress. It was a long-sleeved and high neck with a bizarre super-short and asymmetrical hemline. She added even more silver with pointy-toe pumps. Billie Eilish surprisingly toned-down her look by just wearing a black sweater over top a mid-length black lace dress and chunky boots.

Tiktok star Bella Poarch made a statement for her very first MTV VMAs. She wore an over-the-top black lace jumpsuit and dramatic cape that included a train. She was definitely the most dressed up!
German singer/songwriter Kim Petras wore a black full mush (or full body suit) underneath a floral minidress, adding embellished pointy-toe pumps. Whatever this is, the viewers definitely didn’t like it.

Of course many more amazing celebrities showed up like Shay Mitchell, Normani, Avril Lavigne, Madison Beer, Charli XCX, and many more celebs, but these outfits were the icing on the cake. This year was comprised of many confusing outfits but also many beautiful dresses and suits.
