Top 10 movies coming out soon

Netflix, a movie and tv show streaming service, is seen on a computer.

As 2021 has begun, plenty of movies have been announced. While some have been well-awaited, others are fresh films that have yet to be seen before. Furthermore, I have created a list of my top ten movies coming out this year.

10. Raya and The Last Dragon. This animated Disney film features a young warrior (Kelly Marie Tran) who embarks on a journey to find the last dragon (Awkwafina.) This movie has the adventurous, fun-loving energy that kids and adults alike can enjoy, and is definitely a film that you cannot miss.

9. To All The Boys – Always and Forever. This live-action film based on the books written by Jenny Hann follows Lara Jean (Lana Condor) as she draws closer to the end of high school and begins to contemplate her future. This is a romantic, young-adult movie that is easily relatable and enjoyable for anyone to watch.

8. The Suicide Squad. This live-action movie is a follow up of the last Suicide Squad movie that appeared in 2016. Here we see the adventures of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), and more as they set out to destroy a Nazi-era prison and laboratory. This is an action-filled, light-hearted film that is guaranteed to be entertaining for everyone who watches it.

7. A Quiet Place Part II. This live-action film is a sequel to the first A Quiet Place that came out in 2018. This movie continues the story of the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, John Krasinki, Noah Jupe, etc) after the events of the monster’s attack. This is an exciting horror film that will keep you out of your seat during the whole viewing.

6. Godzilla vs. Kong. This CGI- animated movie has been long-awaited since 2014’s Godzilla. It includes a battle between Godzilla and King Kong but also features daughter Madison Russell (Milly Bobby Brown), geologist Nathan Lind (Alexander Skarsgard), and more. This is a thrilling sci-fi film that is sure to be both engaging and riveting.

5. Malcom & Marie. This live-action film shows the story of a filmmaker (John David Washington) and his girlfriend (Zendaya) as they face struggles within their relationship. This is a film that will definitely draw you in and keep you interested in both the characters and their lives.

4. Don’t Worry Darling. This live-action film follows a housewife (Florence Pugh) and her husband (Harry Styles) in the 1950s. It is said to be a psychological horror movie that will mess with your head and keep you on your toes throughout the whole viewing.

3. The Beatles: Get Back. This live-action movie features never-before-seen footage of The Beatles during the recording of their album “Let It Be.” This film acts as an interesting, retro adventure into some of the greatest music of all time that is still highly relevant today.

2. Eternals. This live-action Marvel film follows immortals who must protect the Earth from the so-called Deviants. Heroes such as Thena (Angelina Jolie), Ikaris (Richard Madden), and more are shown, and they are sure to make this movie extremely enjoyable and fun.

1. Untitled Spider-Man Sequel. This live-action Marvel movie acts as a continuation of the last Spider-man movie, Far From Home. Peter Parker (Tom Holland), MJ (Zendaya), and more are shown as Spider-an engages in adventures and fights evil. This film is one that is assured to entertain and leave you wanting more.

Movies are an excellent source of entertainment during this pandemic and are something to get excited about and look forward to. While these are my top ten movies for this year, I encourage you to find films that you enjoy.
