It is finally starting to cool down now that summer is ending soon and fall is right around the corner, but when should fall activities and traditions start?
“September 1st because that’s fall to me,” main office receptionist Amanda Creamer said. “Once you’ve hit September, it’s like “all-time”,” and then in October, that’s when you can celebrate Halloween and then you go back to fall in November.”
While some people think fall should be earlier, other people think fall should start a little bit later.
“I feel like in Texas that can be hard to say,” Librarian Nikki Stroud said.“I think probably Oct. 1officiall, because of the heat, it’s hard to celebrate. It feels like, in your mind, it should be fall feeling and it’s not.”
Fall can be a wonderful time for people who enjoy cold and fall festivities. Others prefer the warmer seasons rather than the cooler seasons.
“I don’t like the weird feeling outside when fall comes around,” Sophomore Rylee Patterson said. “Not only that, I hate the cold , me and the cold do not get along very well. Ever since I was little I remember hating fall.”
One fun fall activity that some people participate in is decorating for the holidays, bur When is the ideal time to put up and take down these decorations?
“Decorations should be taken down after Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving, it is the holiday season and Christmas decorations are going up everywhere in my house,” English teacher and Cheer coach Kristen Cook said. “I don’t decorate for Halloween, I decorate for fall because it lasts longer, and the decorations are very well put together, and decorating for fall is cute. Way better than Halloween.”
One of the big reasons people love autumn is for Friday Night Lights.
“Fall is my favorite time of the year and I’m a huge football fan so it’s one of my favorite seasons,” Creamer said. “I love the cold weather over being hot, but it’s just a magical time it makes people happy. Thanksgiving makes people happy, Christmas makes people happy, and it makes me happy.”
