Dune Part ll. movie cover

Dune Part ll is a sequel to the first Dune movie that came out X years ago. The movies are based on the book series titled Dune. There are six novels written by Frank Herbert.

The second movie continues to follows a character named Paul Atreides, played by Timothee Chalamet, and how he teams up with the Fremen people to start a war with House Harkonnen. The Harkonnens are the villains who are power-hungry, greedy, and gluttonous. Their leader is Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, played by Stellan Skarsgard, and Feyd-Rautha, is his nephew, who is played by Austin Butler. Butler’s His character is a psychopathic and sadistic but respectful killer. He is also heir to the Harkonnen seat.

The movie takes place on the planet Arrakis, which is covered in sand and spice. Spice is used for navigators who are allowed to travel through space, and exposure to the spice turns their eyes blue. Paul’s love interest is Chani,. She is a Fremen, and is played by Zendaya. She’s independent and doesn’t believe in the prophecy like other Fremen do.

The actor who had the best performance would be Austin Butler. Aside from the makeup and prosthetics, he transformed into his character and portrayed Feyd-Rautha well. Some may disagree, but Timothee Chalamet had the worst performance. His performance felt rushed and not like the character should be at all. He It made it feel as though he was portraying himself and not an actual character.

All in all, Dune Part ll was a well-made movie with cool visual effects and storytelling. If you are going to watch this movie, I recommend watching the first movie if you haven’t yet, so you understand who everyone is and what’s really happening.
